Back in August I posted a couple of times about facebook flyers. I actually went as far as to run a little test.
Flyers are the low end advertising option for those who would like to promote a product or service across a specific network on facebook.
As I documented as part of my test, the results gleaned from my investment were not fantastic. The quality of any online media investment is usually best determined by establishing ROI (return on investment) .My facebook flyers were purchased on a cost per 000' impressions basis, which meant that ROI figures were poor.
The great news is that facebook have re-launched their flyer advertising offering with a new cost per click (CPC) pricing model. Further inspection of facebook's new flyer pricing suggests that their new system is pretty much a clone of the now conventional Google adwords pricing structure.
It must be said, however, that Google's adwords service pricing does include a lot more complex factors these days such as quality score etc... Facebooks decision to make the move to CPC pricing for flyers will have a dramatic effect in uptake of the service in my opinion. CPC based media is a whole lot more suited to ROI based marketing methodology which is the name of the game for top online marketing strategists these days.
I'm looking forward to having a genuine requirement to test facebooks new CPC flyers. The ability to target demographically right down to granular details such as the political or religious views of your target audience creates a whole new game...
