thats it, I'm getting one... I think
Everyone has been in-undated with press release after press release through all conceivable channels about the new iPhone. Then the news about how to crack the devices to be used on mobile phone networks other than the US based AT & T.
On one hand I am impressed by Apple's marketing strategy, however, on the other hand one almost feels like not wanting an iPhone makes oneself a little unique. And I like to be unique.
Now, the latest addition to the apple stable is the iPod touch. Given that this device is really only an iPhone without the phone function, the PR that apple have been able to generate is no where near that of the noise the iPhone launch enjoyed. The most exciting news about the iPod touch and iPhone for me so far has been from typepad (the software I use to author and design half-geek).
Personally I am a little disappointed in the memory options available on the new iPod touch. 16 gig seems a little lack luster, particularly if you have already gone all out on the 80 gig older generation model. I mean who wants to sit down at the computer and sort out which 64 gig's of music they don't want easy access to anymore?
So even though I want to upgrade my current 2 gig nano iPod, I am not sure whether I sacrifice the additional memory of the classic iPod for the wifi and interactive features of the new iPod touch. Plus, my nano is so portable, will I actually take my iPod touch for a run? Hang on, I could keep my nano for that. I'm confused.
What does everyone else think? Are you going to get and iPod touch? Or wait for the iPhone? Or wait for an iPod touch with more memory? I'm getting confused again.....
