buying facebook ads for nz
My original post which reviewed facebooks business solution offerings has been quite popular and since this time I have been actively checking up on the progress of the facebook offerings locally in New Zealand.
What I am interested in is the 'take up' of the facebook business solution offerings, particularly the facebook social adveritisements. Why? ......I suppose I am interested in seeing which kiwi companies are testing the water and trying to see if facebook social advertisments provide a good ROI and therefore warrant further and more significant investments.
To date, the majority of kiwi websites that have been using facebook social ads seem to be smaller businesses. I have, however, noticed a couple of bigger players testing facebooks inventory, namely foodtown and Intercity.
It came as no surprise to me that foodtowns facebook ad was tagged with mediatracker code. Mediatracker is the web analytics software owned by Australasian search marketing company First Rate. These guys are smart enough to know that any targeted media that can be purchased on a pay per click or pay per action (even better) basis is worth testing as part of your online marketing strategy.
The landing page for the foodtown advertisment may also be the handy work of First Rate, with its attractive offering of $5 off shipping for orders over $100. Wait a minute, is that actually an attractive offering? Any way, I did like the new integration of foodtown online shopping with existing foodtown onecard holders (thats foodtowns loyalty card). If you are a onecard user, foodtown online will generate a prefered items shopping list for you online based on your previous shopping behaviour, obviously via onecard data.
So it will be interesting to see how long the foodtown ad hangs around on the pages of kiwi facebook users.........I suppose that only time (and ROI) will tell ;-)
