To me, a crucial part of being successful in the modern web 2.0 environment is developing strategies that support the time old saying that 'people buy from people'. Successful online business strategies of today embrace the social aspects of this 'new' internet where humans communicate how they want, when they want & where they want- quickly. Websites are simply channels that facilitate this communication.
If you want to sell something to people online, no matter what it is, you still need to know how human beings behave in the buying process. Put simply, you need to know how to sell to people. The first five years of my working life were in sales where I achieved some great results. In the last five years I have worked to leverage this knowledge on the internet. Hence the name- half-geek.
half-geeks understand both the latest web based technology and the people who they want to communicate with about their product or service. It is the intersection of these two factors that create online business potential. Without the right combination of people and technology, no person can run a profitable online business.
Outside of work, I love to get outside and go surfing. I am fortunate to live in a little peaceful country where we have an abundance of surf-able points, reefs and beaches. I also love electronic music which I collect in both the vinyl and modern soft copy formats.
